I just got some nice black 16" rota slipstream and I need to have em cleaned for pictures, what do you recommend? I heard somewhere that rims have a special coating which can be messed up...will high pressure soap water do or anything better? any suggestions?

And don't use wax on your rims - it will attract brake dust.

getting brake pads that don't produce a lot of dust helps too - check out EBC's GreenStuff or RedStuff - A friend of mine has RedStuff (the racing version i think) and he says that they produce so little brake dust it's rediculous, and only about $50 and they last longer too

I've tried a lot of tire/rim cleaners and I've come across some that make them clean for a day and then they just attract the dust. Someone told me it was from the silicon they put in there. I've never really looked at the ingredients, so someone might wanna back me up. :smoka:

Regular car wash soap works the best for me. Just make sure thats the last thing you clean so you don't wash your car with brake dust water :lol2:

www.automotiveforums.com/upload Has to be less than 100kb. That will give you a link to your pic. Copy that and then go to post a new message and click on the IMG button and paste the URL into that window
