i bought a 71 nova SS (real SS) last year for 3500 dollars over the year i spent about 3000 dollars rebuilding the engine tranny and carb when i bought it it ran, but not well. it has a 350 engine and a 350 turbo tranny the engine block and head numbers match and are original. it needs some body work and has a few rust spots the front seat needs rehpostered but the back seat is perfect. it will need a new headliner. the steering column will need rebuilt and i havent touched the brakes or suspension yet. it looks as if the floor pans have been replaced by the previous owner. the trunk has some holes in it that will need patched.

i need to get rid of this car because i have no indoor room to do body work in. what is a reasonable asking price for this car? could i get what i put in to it?

Look at what it needs. Rust repair, interior work, trunk floor. Maybe it's just me but for the car your selling I'd want a lot more to start with considering the money I'd have to shell out initially. Perhaps you should consider finishing this car....???

i would really like to but i cant because i have no where to work on it. the original plan was to build a shed to remove all of the junk out of my garage but that fell through the roof for various reasons. if anyone has any ideas of where to make room to work on i would love to hear them as well. it has sat in my driveway for a year now, i cant think of any way to work on body work etc without a garage or other protected working space.

so if i cant get 6500 what would a good asking price be?

I would think it would be fair to offer the vehicle for maybe 5k.
And dont forget to add the OBO.

I only wish you had some smallers pics so I can see the car in full view.

I am currently selling my 75 for 4500 OBO. But then again, mine isnt full of rust.... however it is in need of an overhaul. It still has the original inline 6 250hp motor.

So.... I think you are really the only one who can decide the value of your vehicle.

But first try researching and comparing what others had sold the same car for, that is also in the same near condition.

Good Luck to ya!
