help!!!! transfer case problem

2003 quad cab offroad package 5.7 got high centered in a hole,was being pulled out an my truck died while i was being pulled out,the 4 wheel drive works fine,but in 4lo when i go from park to rev it makes a popping noise.anyone know what the problem could be.

Do you have a skid plate protecting the transfer case and trans? If not, I would definitely have a good look underneath; when you get high centered a good proportion of the vehicle's weight is placed on whatever part the vehicle is high centered on; you could have damaged the part or parts involved.
Since you were in a mudhole, a thorough cleaning is probably needed before you go looking. Check the cases for scratches and dents, the mounts for any damage, and also the driveshafts.

yes has skid plates the rearend was what was high centered, the noise is coming from the front of the case,right were the front drive shaft goes in.maybe that will help,find the problem

Hmmm, not sure now. The noise is coming from the Tcase you say? Were you in deep enough to get some water infiltration into the Tcase or transmission?
