I have a 1996 ¾ ton suburban with the push button 4wd. It will not go into 4hi, but will go into 4 low. Done some research on it, and am trying to locate the tccm module. Have the factory repair manuals but still can’t figure out where the tccm is located. Looked for it without any luck. Can someone please tell me where it is and how to get to it.

On my '98 K2500 it's located left of the steering column tucked under the dash. It should have 2 connectors to it. With the help of the manuals you should be able to identify wire colors going to it. It's kind of a bear to get at. You should really have it scanned for trouble codes before throwing parts at it, maybe you've already done that.

Ok will look there again thanks. I have scaned the codes and it point to the encoder motor. But it works in 4low, so I think maby there is a problem with the tccm.

TCCM's aren't cheap and neither is the encoder motor. ?, When you punch the 4 HI button does the light flash? Could also be the switch panel not sending a signal for 4 HI. If it was me and the codes pointed to the encoder motor, that's were I'd go 1st.

I’m hoping that it is a wiring problem. That is why I want to find the tccm, I’m also wondering if there was a problem with my encoder if it would still go into 4low?
