Ebay VIS CF hood questions

Will this hood melt with 20psi? Im a little scared to get it but I really want a CF hood, it would make life and things easier. And look sexy

I believe it's just a characteristic of carbon fiber to deteriorate under extreme heat. As long as your heat shields are on, it shouldn't be too bad though. But over time expect it to deteriorate, that's what CF does.

So I should probably put my heat sheild back on then lol, how much time are we talking about, a year? 4?

With my eclipse, it(the hood) was perfectly fine for the first couple of years(and I also bought it used so it was even older). But then once I took off my heatshield and installed my Evo III it started to deteriorate. Oh well still worth it that, looks badass IMO :grinyes:

Yea I cant wait, hopefully if I can get a radiator cheap tomorrow at a junk yard, Ill be getting that CF Hood.

IMO i'd go with a vented hood the provide function and sexy. Plus you're already paying for the cf hood...
