Hi everyone,
As mentioned, here is my very latest purchase- the Lexus GS430 by Autoart. Aa has done a great job on this model in basically every aspects! Besides its usual details such as accurate brake discs, nice interior and carpeting, what I really like about this one is the realistically looking headlights and the exquisite paint job that makes this model even more realistic than one expects a 1:18 could be. This model also has some bottom details, not a lot, such as the exhaust pipes etc...which I think in this area it's better than the Carrera GT that they also recently produced (has no bottom details). In addition, it comes with the sun roof, which is kinda interesting cuz it's rather rare among the cars in my collection. Overall, I have to say that I really like this model and it's well worth the $77 (including shipping) that I spent on this model.

REALLY!!?? Dang......I wish I were living in Portugal then. Anything else that is cheap there (in terms of diecast)? And I think you should really consider getting it if it's really that cheap :) .....
Hey Nosliw,
I'm sure your s class will be as detailed, if not more, than this one since it's also made by Aa and especially its a dealer version. However, I just saw pics today on another site that says the rear doors of the new s class (w221 in silver) can't be opened. I'm not sure if it's the exact one you'll be getting but from the pics it does look like the 06' class you ordered.

Nosliw,
Here is the site (you might need to register though)
http://www.diecastxchange.com/forum1/index.php?showtopic=26787&hl=
At first I thought they were talking about something else as I didn't believe they would charge much for a model with sealed rear doors, but afte reading this and another thread which I cant find now I think they could be talking the one you ordered.... I'll post that other thread as well if I can find it (it's also on diecast exchange forum) Anyway, hopefully this is not the same thing you ordered.......

ok I just tried the link and it didn't work....
What you can do is register on that site first (it's free) and then type autoart mercedes in the search box, then I think on the 5th or 6th page you should find the same thread (modifying s class). Hope this helps :) ......

i registered and everything. went to the thread and they don't say anything about the rear doors not being able to be opened. that is an autoart in the pics. your talking about the thread were they put rx8 rims on it right?

i found another link to the s-class and indeed the rear doors don't open, there is'nt any carpet, and the whole interior looks cheap as hell. there is't any metal on the breaks! but i won't believe in any of this until my car comes. i just don't think it sounds right and won't believe my eyes.

Yeah I know, I also could not believe it when I first saw the pics, especially when it's made by Aa. I thought that it would be some other MB model that they produced earlier. But after seeing more pics and reading more of their comments I think that it could be the one. Anyway, just hope what you ordered is not the exact same model, like some sort of an updated version or else.......well, at least the exterior of that model still looks great! :)

we'll just have to wait and see when my s-class arrives. i'm sure not going to beleive anything until i actully see the model w/ my own eyes. i think it might be a hoax or something. it really looks like a welly or anson interior.

well this is relatively off topic to the title of this thread but i just sat in the new s-class today (btw it is the '07 model of '06) and it is pretty nice. so in conclusion my thoughts of aa making this car is that they better do a damn good job because that is what this car deserves.

I totally agree, and I'll probably just get the 2004 s class (I'm sure you'll get that one too) if they really screwed up this one......
