how would you go about checkin to see what kinda cam is in a car without dissassembling anything? a buddy of mine bought a replacement motor and was told it might have a b303 cam in it he is not sure it was his brothers old one, i thought u could take the timing cover off cause dont ford stamp the cam design number on the front of the cam? he just wants it all stock as a temp motor till he finishes his 351 so he dont wanna go though to much hassle of rebuildin or takin stuff apart

Get a dial indicator, take off the valve covers and turn the motor, that will give you at least lift. If you have a degree wheel, you can look at duration.
