Okay, I have 3 keys, my car key, mail, & house. I have the remote for my alarm, & I have a little metal footprint as a heychain that has the footprints poem on it. I'll print it out for anyone who hasn't read it;

"Lord, you said that once I decided to follow You, we would walk side by side through life, but when I needed You most, I only saw one set of footprints in the sand. The Lord replied, "I love you & would never leave you. During your times or trial & suffering, when you see only one set of footprints it was then that I carried you"".

As you probally guessed, I'm a christian.:D

After reading how heavy collections of keys tend to cause problems with car ignition switches -- and, honestly, poking holes in my trouser pockets -- I became a "key minimalist".

I carry one Miata key, one key to my wife's Nissan, and a house key, plus a key to our "Club" lock, which we use interchangably on whichever car on the rare occaisions we go anywhere we think it might be needed.

To keep house keys #'s down, I got all new locks, and had them keyed to match; now one key gets me in the front, side or basement door of the house, the garage, and even the shed!

Sunbeam keys are kept seperate, on a ring hidden in the garage -- and the only ones with a leather "fob".

- A 2002 Fosters Australian F1 Grand Prix Key Tag
- A NASA Diving Fin Key Tag
- The Remote Control/Key to the Mondeo
- Key to the detached garage that used to house the Escort and Laser but now houses the remains of my two partially destroyed MTBs, my 100lb punch bag, boxing gloves, several sets of snow-chains (one-broken and two pairs that don't fit the Mondeo) and spare bits/sports equipment
- Key to the front door of my rental property
- Key to the front door of the flat
- Key to the back door of the flat
- Key to my filing cabinet @ work

Stuff that I don't have on the Key Ring anymore:
- The Stella Artois Key Tag engraved with the code for my personal tab from the bar I once frequented;
- The Victorianix Swiss Army Knife (removed for air transport security);
- The mini-maglite (got sick of diassembling @ airport security);
- BMW M-Coupe Key Tag (no I didn't own the car, one day it suddenly ended up on my key ring - it was in the shape of the side vent strakes)
- The 10 or so keys I used to have to carry 'just in case' - long story

Nova doesnt run yet, So I just leave the key in the ignition...

Its in the backyard, I'd pay good money to see the look on the guy's face who 'tried' to steal it. First getting past the dogs... then turning the key to the sound of silence, maybe then trying to hotwire it... to the sound of silence. Then maybe going as far as popping the hood to see a V8 with almost nothing on it (biggest clue being no Intake Manifold... and looking at an empty Pushrod Valley). HA HA HAAA... ultimate security... :rolleyes:
