I'm thinking about repainting my car, but with black, and I'm looking for a place to do it after i take her out of storage. I've heard a lot of crap about Maaco, is that just their cheap paint jobs that are junk? cus I've head good stuff too. Alsoooo does painting over the metallic paint I've got now make the new paint fade faster or look like crap or any other side effects? :thinkerg:

ummm macco is crap because they just paint the car. like if i just walked up to your car and started painting it. they go over everything. if you prep it yourself it might turn out pretty nice. but a good paint job is pretty pricy

Macco is a get what you pay for deal.

Most people walk in spend 200 bucks and walk out pissed.

No shit you had a car preped striped and painted for 200 bucks!

Macco or any of those chains it'll vary store to store some have great painters and would be a great way to get a car painted. After a smash up of my dads car *you think a little old lady driving is scary wait till shes in a big SUV lol* we were told by the body shop they send it to local Macco and get the top of the line work done. Me being a stickler was quite happy they matched paint very well on a white car. Price was fair not $15 and free Shrimp while you wait like most people get.

I would look/ask around for how people who get the paint done the best they can come out. Alot still falls on the painter but Macco etc can get all the good paints.

I agree....it varies with each individual store. I used maaco, spent around $800 and have had it for like two years with really no problems.
After a good wash it looks brand new still. As long as you wax it regularly itll last a while. Id reccomend Maaco though
