98 Blazer MAF and MAP sensors

My 98 Blazer has failed to start 3 times over the past month after running for about 20 minutes, then sitting for approximately 10 minutes. The engine turns over and will actually start for about 1 second, then it chokes out for lack of gas I assume. After letting it sit for about 20 minutes, it will start up and run without a hitch.

The engine light stayed on long enough for me to get it diagnosed at an autozone. The two codes that appeared were P0101 (MAF sensor) and P0108 (MAP) sensor. Unfortunately, my mechanic tested it the next day and couldn't tell me which one to replace. He said it could be either one, or both of the sensor, and that might not even do the trick.

Any suggestions?

BTW, I've ran fuel injector cleaner through the car on a fairly regular basis, and I don't think it is a clogged fuel filter since the car will eventually start.

It could possibly be one of those sensors , but more than likely they have been stored due to other problems. I would check fuel pressure first , if you dont have a gauge you might want to pull the fuel filter off and try blowing through it. If there is any resistance replace it. Those pour in fuel system cleaners dont keep the filter from plugging up!

Now I've just gotta find the fuel filter. I'm hoping its under the frame in-line with the gas tank?

I replaced my fuel filter this afternoon. After blowing through it, it didn't seem clogged; but I thought I'd replace it anyways since it had 140k miles on it.

I guess time will tell if replacing the filter solved my problem.
