99 blazer 4wd will not shift back into 2hi

I have a 1999 chev blazer. during an ice storm this past monday, I was driving and tried to shift into 4wd.(auto push button transfer)and I think it engaged into 4hi, but the light that tells me if it is engaged just blinks, and I cannot get it to shift into 2hi again. if there is anyone who could possibly know what is wrong or how I can fix it, Please help!!!!!!!

I don't know if this will help, but I have had similar problems with my '99 Blazer. I have had it stuck in 4 hi in the past, what I did was stop the truck, put it into reverse and press the 2 hi button while moving backward slowly. For some reason this has worked for me in the past.

I had it happen the first time when I came off of the beach with some friends and one of the guys riding with me said that putting it into reverese worked on his Chevy 4X4 when it happened to him. I tried it and it worked for me.

Maybe someone on this forum can explain why it does that, though.

if his reverse does not work , heres a idea but i never tryed it so its a do at your own risk , my idea is look in the fuse box for the 4wd fuse and pull it drive it then put it back in just a idea ...
