You need to add the new picture in R&T, it's my favorite.

Cant really tell much from the pictures, need some actual photos when the prototypes are made.

I really like the last one. MUY BELLA!!! Kinda gets back to the retro look of the late 60's and early 70's. I like the first two also kinda Gen X's the current styling. The middle two Suck big hairy *@#$!!!!!! It looks like a Cougar. A Cougar for *&#^ sakes!!!!!!! If ford motor company actually produces those and tries to pass them off as Mustangs I feel i will Have to Blow up every single one I see.

the last one is awesome, but it looks too much like the older ones to come out like that i think

You gotta love the quad exhaust on the second drawing, 2 rear and 2 side, hehe...yeah, the real life prototypes are ugly as hell, but the last drawing is sweet, looks a little too classic, though, i think

The 2nd pic is a pic of the Cougar thats been photoshopped by someone to make it look like the new Mustang which really won't look like that. The 3rd pic is close but it won't have Bullitt wheels. Someone must of pasted those on.

Anyways heres some better info I got from another site (BON):

quoted from no name brand

The next Mustang will have:
-Round headlights
-Forward cant to the grille, slightly swept back on either side (think 1969)
-2 different noses, one with a set of lights in the grille
-Character line starting from the upper part of the front fenders, sweeping rearward & downward to side "scoops" forward of the rear wheels
-A greenhouse not too dissimilar from the current Mustang (though MILDLY more of a fastback)
-More of a bulge over the rear wheels (think any pre-71 Mustang)
-Rear end that slants slightly w/verticle 3 section taillights
-Increased wheelbase (about 2-3 inches)
-Slightly lower (about an inch)& slightly wider
-About the same length, and depending on what happens from the last time I saw it, slightly heavier
-Fuel tank is NOT under the rear seat (not an "LS" DEW chassis)
-Powertrain is NOT finalized, though the OHC 5.0 V8 is on track (may infact come out before S197 does)
-Paddle shifter option on automatics
-GT will be as quick as the to-be-discontinued-next-week LS1 F-bodies (formerly) from GM
-Control blade independent rear suspension (NOT the current Cobra design)
-Some Focus components, but more of a hybrid chassis (NOT Lincoln LS and NOT Focus)

And finally, early renditions of it's interior from the picture posted here is a very good representation of what Mustang's will look like (it doesn't show the materials, color schemes, & details....it's a clay styling buck). To get a good idea of the "feel" if not the exact "look" of the S197, see the "blue" Mustang drawing. It's an earlier studio sketch.

S197 will be built at Flat Rock, which will begin modernizing as soon as Cougar production ends. IF a case can be made, IF finances straighten up quickly, and IF Mercury's future can be cast in concrete (not a certainty yet), the next Cougar will be based off the S197, as the Capri may be.

Far more has been posted on this and other Mustang sites about the S197 than you may even realize. I am by no means the only person here who has seen, or been associated with the new Mustang. Scan through everything, and you will do a far better job in coming up with what the next Mustang looks like than what "Road & Track" seemed capable of doing (yuk!).

The next Mustang currently is scheduled to be out in the 2nd quarter of the 2004 calender year as either a 2004 1/2 or a 2005 . It will NOT be at next years NAIAS (a version of the Ford 500 will likely be though). It is possible a concept using some themes may be made, but don't count on it.

Regarding spy pics, although it's most certainly undergoing some hot weather testing now, it's unlikely you'll see any minimally disguised cars till mid next year (this part's out of my area, so I'm giving my best guess). I'll also guess some may see one testing in Austraila this winter (the MN12's suspension underwent extensive testing there as has hot weather testing of some other s).
