P2's vs. Type R's

Alright, I know this question is going to be hard, if not imposible, to answer, but I'll ask anyway.

My friends sister pretty much totalled his car. He went to the accident scene and got his 2 Rockford P2 12's and amp out of his trunk. He has a Power Acoustik LT1920/2 amp, and 2 single sub boxes. He bolted the two boxes together so it's like one dual chamber box. (Long story).

He thought he'd heard rattling inside the box, so he wanted to throw his stuff in my car to test it. His car is still in the shop, so I've been borrowing his subs and amp for like a week.

Hopefully, I'll be getting two Alpine Type R 12's in a 5/8in MDF dual chamber box (Q Logic), with the same amp as my friend. Same exact wiring, since they're going into the same car. Will my subs hit harder if I tune my amp similarly to his? If not, what will hit as hard/harder, in that price range, and still have decent SQ?

given proper wattage. the type r should beat the P2. i have P3s and i think the R would beat it.

Type-R's hands down...didn't you know they are god's gift to man. ;)

But seriously, they'll hand the RF's their ass. Also, I'd look into a different amp.

That's what I thought, but my friend was saying that he was sceptical (spelling?) that the Type R's would outdo his P2's. We'll show him.
So, my family does Christmas gifts on Christmas Eve. I just got a Q-Logic box (http://www.bestbuy.com/site/olspage.jsp?skuId=6294388&type=product&productCategoryId=cat03082&id=1072287759557 ), and it's 1.25 cu. ft. and Bestbuy.com says the Type R's are designed for .7-1.0 CU FT. Can I just use insulation to lower the volume of the box, or what? Given I do the proper math and do it correctly, will this work?

LASTLY! I can get that Power Acoustik amp for $150 plus tax. My friend has an account at a wholesale place that deals mainly in Power Acoustik stuff. It retails for $750. I work @ Best Buy, so I get a discount on stuff, but I doubt I'll be able to get as proper amp for that price. Will the amp power them without hurting 'em, if wired in a bridged 1 Ohm cofniguration?

I just got a sealed box for Christmas, and it's huge. Aren't ported boxes usually larger? I'd still like a trunk, guys :D
