Does any one out there have a late model sub w/ a rear cargo area subwoofer?? Is it after market or factory and what size is it ?? Finally, is there output control on your tuner??

sub is a 8' enclosed box mine is located drivers side rear, very easy to peak at. Pre-amps out on the ACDelco gear??? I hope you were joking, if you want to keep your aftermarket, you will have to splice into your speaker wire with one of those speaker to RCA modules to get your RCA outpoots. keep in mind, I tried to splice into tweeters on the rear - no luck - response is too high and won't drive an amp (that is what I have installed)

We wanted to add a subwoofer to the OEM Bose system because it needs some punch. Had seen some models w/ the rear subwoofer and wondered what was back there. Also, I noticed that the service manual showed a subwoofer mounted near the floor on front center console, driver's side. How many watts should this rear subwoofer be rated for??

I just unplugged mine, as I mounted:
2nd battery (yellow top optima) (had to mount 2nd battery tray)
battery isolator (130amps)
0ga(1 hot) power cables from under the hood to the back (25ft runs for both)
audiobahn ported speaker box (3 X 12" subs)
audiobahn 1 farad capacitor
audiobahn amp (600amps at 4ohms)
power inverter (mounted on the rear of the speaker box) 2200watts = 18.5 commercial AC amps (sine wave)

I have no trunk, but also do not have to put up with a crappy crackling sound of that 8" factory sub either :)...

my site is down right now, but if you are interested in my setup, I can post pictures in a few days...

Dude, it sounds like you have one heck of a powered sub in back but I'm just interested in the basic upgrade.
