Alternator Bracket...

Hey,

'88 XJ Cherokee Laredo 4.0 Auto.

When I upgraded my stock alternator to a 170Amp model, I recall the mechs informing me that one of the bolts was stripped so they put in a larger bolt. It threaded up nicely and no probs since.

While at the Junk Yard today I picked-up another bracket from a '96 XJ 4.0L. There's two bracket pieces and I got the larger piece that fits behind the alternator. I notice that the front bracket is a smaller piece; that I didn't get.

Does anyone know do the bolts just pass through the smaller front bracket and then thread into the larger rear bracket? If so, then I won't need to get the front bracket since I have it already. Hope I'm making sense.

Thx, Phil

Hey,

Never mind. I was poking around under the hood of my '88 XJ and discovered that the '96 XJ Bracket was too big to fit. Oh well, back to square one.

Thx, Phil
