I'm looking for the "brain-box" in my '02 Ford Taurus. I think it's under the steering column, but I'm not sure. Does anyone know where I can find it?

Upper right side on/in firewall.
Has a couple of hundered wires on one big long plug in with a single bolt head in the center.
All you can see is the end of it.
But it will pull out of there kinda like a raido.
What is the problem with it?

Hmm...do you mean the passenger side? under the glove box? Or is it in the engine bay? There's nothing wrong with it...I bought an ecm power module for it, just for the hell of it, and I need to know how to get access to the ecm to pop the module in. I already did some poking around yesterday, and found what I think is the module. However, it's located beneath the dashboard just above and to the left of the foot pedals. I managed the get the entire assembly out and was unable to find any place plug the module in. So I'm hoping I have the wrong idea about it's location. I've done this on GM's before, in those cases, the ecm was under the passenger side glovebox

You are welcome. A good picture goes a long ways.
Let us know how you come out on the plug in module.
Good luck MT

The picture helped out tremendously. I was able to find the PCM in 5 mins. I got it out in 15 minutes. I had to remove a panel on the back of the PCM to get to the port for the chip. Once I scraped off the protective covering off the leads, I was able to slide the power module on. The car started right up and I can notice the additional power right away. Thanks again for your help!!
