88 bronco 5.0 timing

My emissions sticker is gone and i have no idea what my timing should be but it is currently at 18 degrees BTC. Im sure this isnt right, any help would be appreciated. After disconnecting the SPOUT the timing went to 10 BTC. This is a little better but is it correct?

Timing is controlled by the ecm and 10 degrees is correct for base timing.
