p0118 /"Engine Coolant Temp Circuit High Input"

can any body tell me what this problem may be. i changed my thermostat but problem persists. i had to un plug thing next to T.stat housing that tells the temp because the hand would go up and down and car would rev high and low.

can any body help me please, thanks in advance.

I would look at the engine temperature sensor, the wiring around it, and the temperature gauge. I think you can check the voltage to and from the temperature sensor to isolate the problem. Haines or Chilton manual should help you there. I would probably start with checking the connector and then replacing the sensor.

The code indicates that the engine pcm is not getting a reading from the engine coolabnt sensor.
Did you get it pluged back up good and wiring plug good?
Ohm test on it is
68 degrees=3520 ohms
104 ""=1459 ohms
200 "" = 241 ohms
If you can get it on a scanner see what the engine coolant reading is in scanner.
If you have to replace the sensor they have them with a wiring plugin kit to.
