Hello! Accident 2 weeks ago, My audi s4 was destroyed. I got a check from the insurance the other day for £8700 which was a bit of a disapointment. What can i get thats fast, practical and cheap? Image is of minor importance. 6 cylinders are a MINIMUM requirement. Front wheel drive vehicles are excluded. Must have seating for the wife and 3 daughters in baby seats. Any suggestions gratefully received!!

ha ha! just read my first post! When i say "minor importance" i think i meant to say huge importance but not quite as important as things like an lsd etc.
The old M5 is spot on really. Good to drive, o.k-ish to look at! What else is there though??

Damn, screw that then.. not worth it.

Is RWD really that important? Because I'd reccomend a 5th gen Maxima if you dont mind FWD.

nah, can't live with the slippage, torque steer, understeer, lift-off oversteer, big turning circle, cramped transverse layout and lack of lsd which equals 1wd! Makes it hard these days cos you tend to only get rwd on exspensive cars - which says it all really. No disrespect to owners of fwd cars - i had one once and managed to keep it for 5 years without crashing it - maybe that says somthing too.

^yeah I hear ya, I much rather have RWD than FWD.

Not much more I can think of... what about a used BMW 330i?

So I went looking for a 330 but they are being advertised from £9k upwards - i was pissed off cos i liked the idea. one of my neighbours has an 04 silver 330 sport - it looks almost as good as an e46 m3.
But I did see a car i'm going to look at after xmas. A 98 E36 M3 Evolution with 4 doors, Estoril metalic blue 6 speed manual 321bhp 81000 mile full bmw service history £7999 about $16000 screen price with 1 year warranty. It looks ace from the pictures. Does anyone have any comments on the e36 m3 generaly? is it as good as the guys on the e36 m3 forum would say? i had an S4 quattro liked that lots and the bmw is meant to be better right?
