Do not buy an internet warranty. I deal with those all the time at work and they're junk. If you want to look into a good online extended warranty company look up AUL exteneded warranty.

The best extended warranty co's. i would look into-

1) National Auto Care
2) CNA
3) Universal Automax

Is this for a new or used vehicle?

It's probably for his 02 Grand AM

Damn, I guess I could have clicked on that "profile" button.....

In any case, I'm against extended warranties - if you can do repair work on your own vehicle, that is. However they're a good idea if you prefer not to.

A customer just saved $1200 in repairs because of their extended warranty. Let me just say he will definately want an extended warranty to go with his grand am.

Fair enough; since I've only owned really old vehicles (or really new) and do as much of my own work as I can, I don't have much experience with them.

Make sure you do the research into companies that sell the warranties before you make your decision. There are a lot of unreliable firms out there, and pay attention especially to the fine print on the contract. Some companies make you go to certain repair facilities, or have a say in what replacement parts to use, etc. Some companies even force you to pay for the work upfront, and then reimburse you,( if you're lucky.) One of our local tv stations did a big report on these "extended warranties" earlier this year because a lot of residents in the area were getting burned by a few disreputable companies doing business out there. Some even took the customer's money, then went out of business leaving the people with no coverage.

Most companies will make you pay a deductible if you dont go to one of their preferred repair shops, but i've never heard of them making you go one place or another to do it. The companies i listed above are three of the best, definately worth considering.

I bought an extended warranty through an online company for my 2003 Toyota Camry, but just about six months afterwards, the company declared bankruptcy. I paid around $1100 for the extended warranty and have written off almost any hope of recovering anything back. You can read more about the bankruptcy at www.warrantygold.com (http://www.warrantygold.com) (This isn't advertising because the company is out-of-business).

My advice is to buy the extended warranty through the dealership where you a buying your car. It's more expensive, but it's probably a better financed company that won't go belly up.
