I know some reasons why plugs fowl and get burned up, but my escort lost complete and total power anytime i went up a hill or incline to the point of stalling. after changing the map sensor and realizing that wasnt it, i pulled a plug and it was totally fried. any idea's what cause this.

" i pulled a plug and it was totally fried"

The plug was 'fried'? What do you mean? Were plug wires 'fried' too?

Have you ever changed the plugs and plug wires?

i bought the car a year ago, 47,000 miles on it and knowing there durability i knew it would be a great investment for 2,000. to answer your question i did not change the plugs or wires. i mean the plugs were totally fried.....not even a gap left. wires didnt look that bad, i went and put 4 new motorcraft plugs in it and new wires and its running super now. the thing that gets me is the 1st plug (all the way on left) was perfectly fine....the other 3 were bad. i just cant figure out why, lol.

Sonds like you're all set now

I was thinking that maybe it was just time for replacement. Who knows, may be the originals?

I wonder if #1 fouled out and they had to replace it. Sounds way over do. You got a good deal on the car. Will last a long time.
