I think he means 2 subs in a bandpass box sharing the airspring chamber. You know, every single $40 BP box out there.....

you can get them at best buy for $170. you can actually get them for free at the best buy here when you buy a qualifying amp and components. they do this every christmas with the same set of dual subs.
disclaimer: i do not own them. :-p

subs weren't meant to show off. they were meant to dish out bass that speakers can't and to massage my back after a hard day's work.

speaking of stupid people. im still trying to find a 200 amp alt for my car so ive been driving around everywhere looking for one. found a place that rebuilds alts for semis but they can only do mine up to 180. but the guy gave me a number to an auto electric shop about 25 miles away. i give the guy a call and explain that im running a car stereo with 350 amps draw so i need at least a 200 amp alt. he was speechless. he said and i quote "youll never need that much power, you will never find a car stereo that draws more than 60 amps. we work with a local custom audio shop which does multi thousand dollar installs and they never go over 60". then he tells me that an alternator with that much output will require custom building and an external rectifier because the heat will melt the solder on the diodes and it could cost over 1000 bucks. i immediately hung up on him.

haha... im putting over a 100a draw on my stock alt...
There are single amps that draw twice as much current as what your whole system is drawing.
SPL vehicles that compeate in World Finals have 100 +Kw of power, even on a 120v that is around 1000a of draw. i dont even know if they can still run 120v systems...if not im sure they have like 20 runs of 3/0 and a wall of batteries and 4 400a generators... i see nothing melting.
The larger the wire the less X ammount of current heats it up. if his wires are getting so hot they are melting solder with any more than a 60a draw he must be using 16ga power wire.
