Whats the Value of Minichamps 1/43's?

I always have my eyes on 1/43rd Scale F1's. Im sure you all know the following link:

But it was last updated on July 1st 2005

Was just wandering if anyone had an updated value pricelist of Minichamps F1 GTR's in 1/43 Scale? and is there such auction place (other than ebay) to put these?

Also, would be interesting to know how many forum users own a West #8 Promo Model?

I think you have found the most accurate source available for that info. It's a shame he hasn't updated it in so long.

I don't have any 1/43rd scale GTRs, but I have almost all the Minichamps F1 road cars in that size as well as the 1/64th, and 1/87th scale versions. I also have most of the UT 1/18ths - GTRs included.

Sounds like something he would buy. I believe both Thorst and I rank the F50 GT as our second favorite supercar, unless he's allowed the Koenigsegg CCR ride that he got earlier this year to go to his head. :iceslolan

That's F50 GT 001, and that shot was taken the second time it was crashed, which although ugly was supposedly rather minor. The first time it was crashed it actually cracked the tub and had to be sent back to Italy for extensive repairs. Both accidents occurred on the car's outlap on cold tires, however there was a different driver (not the owner) the first time. Must be tricky controlling that much power in such a lightweight car.

My mods:
-Refitting of all the panels because they were wrong and full of large gaps.
-Giving it a proper engine and not a stock, partly ruined Tamiya leftover.
-Repainted ALL the black parts, including the wheels.
-Detailed all kinds of small objects, switches, bolts, nuts etc.
-Lowered the model
-Given it a "Thorst13" style overly aggressive exhausts :giggle
-Fitted metal inserts in the air intakes front and fans in front hood.
-Moved the whole rear end with approx 1cm to make the parts fit together properly.
-Cutting and reshaping unnecessary objects and bettering the quality of the build.

Still missing some small details, but I will get back to them after christmas.

And Erik, the Koenigsegg will NEVER take F50 GT's definate place in my heart! :) The swede is truly a magnificent car, but I don't even think it's on my top 5, definately on top 10 though....
I rank all the McLaren F1's as one car because of the mainly cosmetical diffrences, then followed extremely close by the ultimate Ferrari! :grinyes:

i am not into 1/43s but just to have some RARE ones in collection ended up buying the 1/43 West and East #8's both in perfect mint condtion!!!!

The only other 1/43s i have are road cars in all colors, wresling with their 1/12 BIG Bros.... and Lark GTRs and NOT to forget the Orange and RED LM GTR Roadcars!!!

I have most of the 1/43rds and I have a promo West model. Unfortunately a few years ago, I put the cars in a cabinet and disposed of the boxes!!!! and my box had the rare white West cover on it as well. Bloody idiot.

even more of an idiot when you consider I have a Fina shorttail which came in a BMW packaging and a rare Lark GTR.

Doubt they are worth much now

I got to say that overall it looks like youre designs seem to be the most classical ones for me, GTR prototype, #8 WEST, #59 and Davidoff #8 are to me the essence of McLaren racers. Some pride must be felt in desining many of the classics? :lol:

BTW, on your #8 WEST, the low "SWEDOL" ad.
I've debated this with some of my 1:43 WEST friends, is it correct to have the SWEDOL low close to the gound on the front door, or should it be some inches up on the door? Even the demo 1:43's have different placing of this livery...... :confused:

nope, went in the bin years ago. Any McLaren employee could purchase one at reduced cost at the time of most of the Minichamp cars. A very big regret, but you live and learn and it was 9 or so years ago

Re: Swedol, when I did that livery, it was basic colouration/split, West logos and race numbers. Associated sponsors were added later by DPR so I had no hand of it

Well.....before i left italy, last december, i gave a friend a 1/18 BMW X5 Kyosho and he gave me in change a 1/18 UT mclaren F1 Green brand new and a 1/18 MAISTO mclaren f1 Silver. it was a great deal.

I have seen the green one on ebay with prices betwen 60 and 90 Euros each. And it is very rare to find in ebay. you find it once in a while not as much the silver one. I think theres is one right now on ebay. in germany if i'm not wrong.
Thurst, you can correct me about prices.

The green UT has been in the $85 to $145 area, it's impossible to predict this one it seems. They are becoming rarer these days so I expect them to increase in value.

that is just great...it feels very good when you open a box with more than 3 mclarens. it happened to me also with 5 mclaren all in perfect condition.

we have to share our collections.....
when do you think you can have some pics ready to show it? i think i will open the thread by july or august, if possible, so we can show our collections. everybody has little different things for sure. it will be nice to see what other people have and how they collect them .

The FXX and Murcielago is 1/18. The FXX is Hotwheels Elite which is not release to public yet, I got it from friends (Kim) and the Murcielago is Autoart(I bought is for 40USD)

Well, the World Cup does not affect me.... I am more enjoy in buying diecasts... Damn, I lose 5 auctions of 1/12 PMA Mclaren GTR this morning....

i collect these 1/43 Minichamps. However i collect the Formula One Machines not the Road/Race Cars but i do know the value element. The McLarens are some of the most sought afetr models and people are always afetr them. If you own a #8 WEST one with the original West Cigarettes Branding then it is worth a lot of money. Even though i see in the origional post you make, you dont want to sell on eBay but many are and even though its eBay they sell for $100's each im not good with dollars so i dont know how expansive but they are a lot.
