LeSabre, standard, 65K miles, cruise control died at about 51K. (when you push button light comes on, but goes out when the button is released). Relay won't "seal UP"
Transmission, whether in 3 or "D", drops out-of-gear (that's what it feels like) when cruising 35 to about 55 mph. Note, foot has to completely OFF the pedal to produce this phenomena.
When you place foot back on the pedal a perceptible(but low magnitude) shift pulse is felt in the car as it goes back into "gear". (this started about 53K miles)
Dealer says "no codes" (but is evasive). Sr. mechanic says not to worry,"it's SUPPOSED to coast when you take your foot off the gas".
This has the earmarks of a repeat of my Toyota transmission/computer nightmare that cost me thousands!!!

Your cruise sounds like a relay need to be replaced. Look in your owners manual to find the location.
Unforuantally, your trannie sounds like it has an internal leak. When the RPM's go down (ie..you remove your foot from the gas) the psi goes down and the clutches come apart. (this is all just a guess) It also could be an electrical issue because all of the trannies are controled by the computer.
I don't know if I've helped. Hopfully someone can add to what I've said or corect something.
Regards
Dan

I believe your cruise control switch is suppose to latch when it's pressed in. So, it sounds like your switch is bad. I could guess at your tranny problems, but would allow someone else to make that call.
