i have a 2002 camry and it have two conditions that drive me nuts.firstly when it is cold outside and i turn on the blower/heater there is a ticking sound coming from the area of the glove compartment,it sounds like the fan is hitting something the mystery is it never happen when the weather warms up, the colder the louder it gets.secondly everytime i cold start the car and drive it there is a loud tick coming from the engine compartment,it is one tick everytime ,it sounds like a contact closing, time of day temp or season doesn't matter, also if i reverse out my drive way i wont hear it only when i put it in drive and start to go forward.Any ideas?

Your car has a TSB for a rattle at idle and light accelleration and that requires replacement of the intake manifold. No tsb's for ticking.

Do you have a link to this TSB?
Thanks

Does anyone know what it is that causes the intake manifold to fail? or why? and does it break apart, or crack, or fall off the engine. This sounds like a defective part. so why is toyota charging for this?

Toyota is charging for this because not enough people have complained to them or the NHTSB.
