2003 GMC Safari Check Engine Light on

I just had the oil changed in our van last night. This morning on my way to work, the 'check engine' light came on. The van is running normal and I don't notice anything wrong. I called an automotive place in town and they said it could be nothing and just need to be "reset" or it could be something....they would charge around $40.00 just to hook it up and see what error message.

Anyone have any suggestions as to what I can do on my own first? (well my husband can do first?) How is this "reset"?

There is a reason for the light to have come on. Take it to Autozone, they will retrieve the codes for FREE! Write the codes down. The system must be reset with the same tool they scan the codes with, just ask them to reset, or "clear" it. Post the codes here and we can help you.
