Hello. I'm a newb here. I'm really thinking about getting a 951 to put a LS1 into. I found the kit with mounts at Renegade Hybrids. But I have a quesiton.
Their site says to use the stock trans, and adapt it to the LS1. But I plan on using a blown fully modded LS1 and running 10's in the quarter. So I want to use the manual that comes with the LS1, atleast a beefed up one.
What would I do about the rear diff? Its a IRS right? I know its not strong enough stock. I'm thinking I'd have to throw in a Supra diff or C4/C5 diff. What do you guys think? Is that doable? Has anyone done this swap before?
Thanks guys.

IDK how strong the Porsche trans. is, but I know they beefed it up for the 951 and I think they beefed it up again a few years later for their later model production 951's. As for the rear-end, I don't think they put in an LSD until like 89??? (correct me if I'm wrong). Good luck

No they had LSD before that as an option.
Drewfus2101 the 951 isn’t a drag car so your fighting an up hill battle, but if that’s what you want to do go to rennlist.com and search LS1 951. There’s a guy on their who built one. I think he sold it for like 30grand. I am surprised though that they told you to use the stock tranny:screwy: The 951 has a trans axle tranny that doesn’t even like minor power adding:screwy: you will go through CV's daily. The tranny its self MIGHT hold up though I guess. It would be a bitchin swap though. I saw the video of the guy from rennlist and its scary how fast it is. I wouldn’t even bother with F/I, first because there’s no room and two because I don’t think you realize how crazy fast the car will be with even a stock LS1. My last :2cents: though is don’t waste your time trying to make it an all out drag car... you would be missing out on all the fun of owning a Porsche.
