I went to d1gp and picked up some new front pads for my car for 60 bucks, they are old hks pads, i am guessing at least 5 years if not older, b/c hks hasnt made pads in awhile, but they are brand new!
I also went down to rrr and got some nismo brake lines for the front...
I havent gotten a chance to work on my car's brakes before, so how would I go about installing these parts...thanks
iknow ill probably have to bleed the lines etc...but for the pads ive seen people put stuff on the back of them when installing, what is that stuff?

-jack front car up
-remove lug nuts
-remove tires
-pop hood, remove brake fluid resivour cap
-remove 2 bolts behind caliper (top, bottom of caliper)
-remove caliper
-remove old brake pads, and brake retainers (thats what i call them. and make sure you know which pad goes where. take note on the old pads)
-use a clamp to push the brake piston in, alittle at a time. (thats why you take the brake resivour cap off)
-push piston in until the caliper can fit snug with the new pads
-clean/spray the retainers with brake fluid
-spray new pads lightly
-spray rotor
-put retainers back on
-put new pads in
-fit the caliper in
-tighten the 2 bolts
-cap the brake resivour
-keep pressing the brake pedal till you get the normal feel
repeat on the other side

For the rear brakes, use needle nose pliers to twist the piston in instead a clamp. I believe its clockwise. When i did mine, it was a bitch to get them to go in. As for the brake lines, a friend did that for me so im not too sure about that.

good luck

make sure you bleed them properly. I guess for new lines I would just open the reservior and try to drain the old fluid out. then you install all the new parts, fill it with fresh fluid, close the reservior, then press the brake and open the bleed screw for about 5 seconds until fluid comes out. always check the reservior and make sure you top it off constantly, then repeat maybe 3 times to make sure all the air is out. then do it on the other side.

hey as i said before i have never done brake stuff...so what does the bleed screw look like, and any recomended brake fluid?
to bleed it should i just disconnect all the lines and press brake pedal untill all is gone?
thanks

No everything must be connected when you bleed the brakes. AS you hold down the brake pedal, pressure builds up in the lines, then when you loosen the bleed screw, the pressure forces the air out, and also the fluid. So you need to hold the brake with the system closed to build pressure, then, still holding the brake, loosen the screw, to allow air out. I usually over do it a little bit and bleed it a few times when there is only fluid coming out, just to be safe that there is no air left.

Speed Bleeders > *

20$ for one person to bleed a full brake system in 10 minutes FTW.

im sure you could. Just go there and ask. I think i saw auto-zone have them around here.....which is probably equivalent to what your store is where ever you are.

Yeah Speed Bleedrs are worth the money. When bleeding the brakes use good fluid, that hasn't been open for long. Flush out your old one too, as it gets the moisture in with time.
Tell us the results.

it appears that the pads are for jdm calipers so they didnt fit so whatever...
but we put the lines on and they give a definate firmer pedal feel b/c they dont flex like the rubber lines...its good stuff...I also exchanged a kazama skid plate for some $ and a cusco rear strut tower bar which i will put on soon...and we turned the boost up to .8 which is the optimal setting for t25g so its all good!
