Tamiya F40GT Competizione vs Street legal F40?

Is the new reissue from Tamiya exactly the same as the road model but with new decals and PE parts, or are the parts different?

I was thinking of building a street car - would it be better to get this kit with the PE parts and skip the decals, or are there significant differences b/t kits?

I believe they have included new parts to represent the racing version. Like wheels, wing and extra engine pieces.

If you want to build an accurate street car you'd be better to use the original street kit.

The GT kit doesn't have street tires, street mirrors, or a street exhaust system. The photoetch is useful for the rear grille mesh, but other than that, it certainly wouldn't justify the purchase of the GT version over the street version. And there are certainly other good options for that rear mesh, that will also give you mesh for the front inlets that Tamiya has neglected in both versions. Sooner or later, I'll get to it in my F40 build.

So it's basically the same kit (I remember having ??? about the fitment of the engine cover when opening the box and fiddling with the parts)

I guess it's worth getting anyways, as it's the best representation of that F40 modelcar.

current (old) tamiya f40 item has some inacurracy in rear bonnet/bumper fitting: I've a couple, one boyght when this fine kit was relased and one recently: the bug seem the same

Have they work to cover this little trouble?
