wow!

so last night i was with my buddy mike gettin some late night wendys...so were on a 2 lane highway with redlight quarter mile apart in one spot...i see an srt-4 so i pull up next to it and roll down my window and because his was and asked if he wanted to go he said ok. so we pulled into wendys got our food and went back to the light we waited for it to go red and when it became green we took off...i pulled ahead because i got a really good launch...we kept going and i started to pull away his front end was even with the back of my car the whole way when we went through the light his car was still even with the back of mine! i won i was just wondering considering my mods if i really should have won? this guy seemed like he could drive..he also had 1 person in his car but thats it...i have a 97 gst apexi turboback..intake..bov with greddy pipes..intake.. safc2..3g lifters dont do anything for power i no..and thats about it..should he have beat me? thanks guys

Hmmmm....Factory on SRT-4's are about 240 hrspwr and 250 torque(which is also underrated, more like 245/260) The launching on these cars is so easy, so if he shitted up his launch he probably sucked at driving. Could you tell if he had any mods or anything? Also the SRT weighs a small amount more than the Eclipse(about 250lbs), plus if he had a say 175lb. person in his car then you have a pretty good weight advantage over him.

Nice kill, but my guess is he is mostly stock or he would have beat you if he had any mods over an intake and exhaust. What boost are you running at?

what year was the srt4? the 03's can run a 14.3 at the 1/4 mile and the 05's/06's can run a 13.9. but thats with pro drivers.

i raced two srt4s in my 06 eclipse gt, i lost the first race by a car but i had a bad take off. i raced the same srt rolling at 20 mph and i won by a 1/2 a car. the 2nd srt was on the freeway going from 70 all the way to about 115 mph and i won by little more then a car.

i use to have a 97 gst and what i remember reading the gsts runs a high 14 stock. so i think he should have won....but then again i was told the srt4 will destroy me. so who knows?
