Thing is its a his verison of an SS. Yea thats a nice blazer with the lt4 but why do you need it the 4.3 vortec is a bitchin engine as it is. Plus money doesn't grow on trees.

What makes you think your a kid.

All the kids these days say you car isnt good if it doesn't have a v8. He did all that to his blazer himself , not with a team of guys, jeez give him a break you probably dont even have a car.

Another thing, GAS PRICES!

I never said better or worse, i am a big believer in people being equal, let alone our hobbies and beliefs. Just when i think of SS, in MY OPINION, i think of V8, lots of horsepower. I honestly like your Blazer, love the supercharger! Don't judge me because of what i say, you dont know if im a 13 year old boy, or a 75 year old man, don't try to break it down like you know who i am outside of the internet, Have a good day.

Money doesn't grow on trees, it grows out of them... Talk to most people who do the swap, the v8 improves gas mileage. Don't worry about other people, worry about your own.

The real Blazer SS!!! 502hp LT4, what did you say about 6 cylinders?
http://www.chevyhiperformance.com/techarticles/48442/

Thats pretty damn cool and all, but.... I havent got near enough $$$ to even think about doing something like that. I would rather spend the $$ and do it the BlazerSS way. Just my 2 cents

how the hell could the V8 actually improve gas milage over the 4.3??? :wtf:

I am going to be blunt here, but shut up about the V8.

For cripes sake it is easy to drop in a V8 for power, it takes skill and hard work to make a 4.3L put out 325+HP.

You keep on going on and on about a V8 and wonder why people are getting pissy at you. You are insulting the thread starter with a great truck that I am envious of (in a good way).

So if you want to talk about a V8, start your own thread, but stop going on and on about how a V8 is somehow better than what he has.

Do that makes you look like a kid because no mature adult would be so rude.

Ok sorry 1 more v8 thing.

My 95 Impala SS gets 8 miles to the gallon my blazer gets around 15 - 17.There's something wrong with your Impala. My 96 gets over 3x that much. The mileage on your Blazer is a little low, too.

BTW: What color is your SS?

no the impala is supercharged and its aways sucked gas. Its got the LT1 and its black :), i tried to go with the hole undercover cop deal. The blazer needs to have a tune up, its at 70k miles right now plus i need to change the fuel filter. plus it was a ruff estimate. edmunds.com says it verys from 15 to 20.

I know someone with a 2001 Tahoe with a V8 and they get better mileage than I do. They average is about 15-17 MPG while i manage to get 14-15 MPG with my 4.3l. (Remember that this V8 is newer and has improved technology so most V8's are not like this)..... Just look at the new 2007 tahoe it has MDS shutting off 4 cylinders.

I like the motto they have for these engines........ We dont need a smaller engine we just need a smarter engine

I actually just started a thread about gas mileage improvement so whatever you have to get better gas mileage you can just post it there.....

You have to admit that Blazer SS has a pretty bitchin blazer though...... think of it as a newer chevy version of the Typhoon

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

It's a never ending cycle isn't it? carbon deposits caused by unburnt fuel needing higher octane fuel, in order to run better , which in turn creates more carbon deposits.

This forum has two procedures for removing carbon deposits. One the water method provided by Blazer LT, and the Seafoam method. Both work. try them both but make sure that your engine is properly heated.

Now about the maf sensor cleaning, MY MILEAGE WENT UP ALMOST THREE MILES TO THE GALLON OVERNIGHT!! It went from 12.9 to 14.3, and the throttle response is much better, I forgot to mention that I also removed the screen. I haven't hit the highway yet but believe me I will today. This is unbeleavable , this with two fuel pumps and 500 hp!!! when I hit that button I had to look twice.

My truck uses nothing but synthetic, every fluid except water is man made. This forum is a wealth of knowledge and many of the things that I use came from this site.

Thx for the info man

wow about 14 with 500 horsepower

Ive got almost 15 mpg with maybe 200 horsepower

Imagine the kind of mileage you would get with a V8 with that much horsepower

I'm sorry, I think that I have to explain something. That 509 HP was done on a dyno with the engine in the truck. The actual number of HP that was measured at the rear wheels was 389HP, The formula that I used for slop from the drivetrain was 15%, since this is an automatic and also a 4 wheel drive the hp came to 447.35HP, the supercharger itself takes 60HP itself just to run it. Add that to the 447 and it comes to 507.35HP. I have been told my slop factor is much higher and I should use at least a 20% factor. I chose the low end. The engine will get a complete rebuild with a stroker kit and a Better fuel management program along with much bigger injectors, this time the engine will be put on a dyno and measured at the flywheel. I have been told to expect between 6-700HP.

And you do know that the Typhoon was a turbo, and his ss is supercharged, but its close enough... Hey Blazer SS, i hope you enjoy it, everytime i hear the screw or turbine pushing air and make that high pitched whine, i get tingles down my spine. I like the noise of a turbo/supercharger almost more than anything...

I dont listen to the radio that much. the greatest sound is when you floor it and let your foot off of the throttle, the pop off valve lets out a sound that is hard to describe , sort of a high pitched snarl but its very short. I will have the video and the sound bits posted by this weekend. And you were right, it is kind of getting unstreetable, I have to be very careful when I pull off from traffic lights the front end lifts slightly if I am not very very easy on the pedal. Honestly it is getting kind of old. The best thing is my wife will not drive it. She drove it once about a hundred yards and got out. This after telling me that I drive way to slow in the city!

Why does this truck have two different steering wheels? One pic has the wheel from a newer blazer and another pic has the steering wheel of an older blazer. Very nice work!

I went with a leather and wood sport steering wheel, fit right on, the hardest part was wiring the radio to work with the steering wheel controls. www.jpcustoms.com has the complete kit, the instructions are amazing, you just have to supply your own steering wheel and air bag.

Where did you get your rear axle cover from? I love the clean chrome look of it. Mine is extremely rusted and I would rather get a new one than clean up my old one.
