LS6 intake question

does any1 know if an ls6 intake, TB, and a lid will change the sound of my car. And do u know where and how much it costs to get an intake painted. Or can i do it myself??

Shouldn't change the sound of the car at all.

You can paint it. I painted my old one a glossy black. Just was very careful to tape everything off and used a high temp spray paint.
While mine didn't chip any paint off, I have heard of that happening.
What color are you looking to paint it?

And on a car with stock heads I would recommend just having the stock throttle body ported and polished.

either silver or red. most likely red. Wait i gotta take the entire intake off to paint it. And which shop would charge to paint it.

Um...in order to install it, it has to be removed anyways.
Shop to remove and paint?? Who knows? The install is probably a 3 hour job (give or take) at $70-$80 an hour.

no. I was thinking of maybe painting my LS1 intake. Maybe ill hold off on that for a while. Does it still have to be removed to be painted???

To get a good paintjob on it I am going to say yes.

As far as exhaust note goes, no. As far as under the engine, yes slightly. Done correctly, you'll notice a smoother 'woosh' of air during idle, and a ~very~ pronounced woosh when you play with the trottle body and give some gas.

Although I have a CAI as well, though that shouldn't matter too much.
