Shortshifter???

Considering getting a short shifter for my 01 gt. Was wondering just how much of a difference it makes as far as getting a lot of the slack so-to-speak, out of the shifts. I really do dispise the truck-like feel of the stock shifter yet I put off on getting one on my old mustang since all my money went towards actual power adding mods. So does anybody know just how much of a difference a short shifter will make as far as giving me a tighter feel and shortening the throws. And also how much shorter is the shift lever than the stock one?

hold off till you get the T56 when you do get a MGW shifter its the shortest throw on the market. The position of the stock shifter is horrid. The MGW shifter lets you rotate it to where you need it.

i had the steeda tri-ax on my 03GT and it makes it funner to drive and shift. u really can tell the difference, not only is the distance from shift to shift shorter, but it helps u not to miss third gear. (i dont know how, it sorta guides u to 3rd) the stick is also shorter which also helps move thru the gears faster.

Lotsa people like the steeda tri-ax and the pro-5.0 shifters.

Have driven both, ended up with a tri-ax handle on a pro-5.0 shifter.
