Yeah, that is about what i am getting with mine. I am hoping to get a little better mileage once i get the new CPI unit installed... HOPEFULLY at least 2-3 more MPG. My biggest problem is that i can fill the beast to half a tank with only 10 dollars in fuel (roughly 5 gallons) then its another 20 gallons to get to full??? WTF?

its because when you tank says empty there is still like 4 gallons in there plus your 5 you put in so thats 9 to a half tank and another 10 to fill it at 2 a gallon thats 20 bucks.... 19 gallons for the 4dr and 20 for the 2dr

16-17 is typical in town MPG for these units. I have a 93 and a 95, both with the Vortec and that is what they get in town. They'll push 20-21 on the highway.
Figured I'd better add that mine are 4WD, 2WD should get subtantially better MPG.

I'm getting about 225 to a tank, but i have a 2dr that has a 18gal tank. Also i have 31 x 10.5 x 15 tires so they hog a little more gas as well.

My 93 S-10 Blazer gets right at 20mpg avg in summer, 16-17 in winter. I can go 300-325 between fill-ups.

I am getting about 300 miles to a full tank. I was getting 320 before I blew my engine, now I need to figure out how I got an engine with less miles than the one I blew and am getting less gas mileage. This was before I got the bigger tires and all.
Quick Question, the 4 door 2wd Blazer (2000 model) had how big of a tank?

Nope, wrong on that one. (at least on my Blazer) when that little needle is pointing at the second orange bar (that means empty) she shuts off! There is no reserve or anything, once that gauge says empty you better be at a gas station or you will be walking, soon..
I took my blazer to Ohio on a road trip once (about 450 miles) and i noticed that i could go 280 miles on the first half of tank and only 75 on the bottom half.... i wish i could re-calibrate that dam gauge.

yep. last time i let it go all the way to E, i had 280 on the tank and I drifted into the gas station. I wounder if the autometer fuel gage is more accurate.

It is not so much the gauge as it is the sending unit. The flost is on a wire, most likely if a fuel pump has been changed, the installer probably bent the wire give a false/inaccurate reading to the gauge.

What are we using as the "empty" reference point for checking the mileage? Are we talking when the light goes on or when the range on the trip computer says Lo? From full to danm near running out of gas I get about 300mi on about a 70/30 highway/city mix.
My gauge is the same way. I figure about 1 click left of the 3/4 mark is actually 1/2 tank.

2dr has a 20g tank
Not saying your wrong, because i was.... i opened the owners manual and it says 2dr 19 gal, 4dr 18 gal. I was reading about the whole gas gauge post also.... when my gauge is on E it still has about 3-4 gal in it. I'm pretty sure it wasnt tampered with cause i bought the truck with 18K on it. I've read the several of you have poted E is E. I know we have already touched this in another post, but has anyone else noticed that GM gas gauges are weird?
