I preface this question with the information that I am asking this for somebody else. I am not car savvy and only know a limited amount of repair knowledge.
I am asking if anybody knows the firing sequence for a 92 sunbird. My friend is fixing a car for me. He is at a point where he is running new plug cables to the distributor. He says he is aware of the cylider firing sequence but cant see the cap to know where the proper placement should be.
Am I making sense? I hope so.
I told him that there is about 12 combinations and he should try them all. He caught my joke.
Anyway, if I can get some input from you guys, I would appreciate it. It seems a simple question (if I gave all the information correctly).
Thanks and rock on.

The Firing order is 1-3-4-2..... Now, if he pulled all of the wires and doens't rember which one ran to #1... then you're screwed. Basically, I forget if #1 is marked on the cap at all, but if it's not then he'll have to pull the #1 plug and get it to TDC and remove the cap to see where the rotor is pointing. That'll tell him which terminal on the cap to use as #1.
If the cap is labelled, or he rembers which one was #1... then that'll save alot of trouble.
