Removing Vr6 Tranny

I HAVE ALL OF THE BOLTS I CAN FIND OUT OF THE 1998 VR6 TRANNY AND CAN'T GET IT TO SEPARATE FROM THE ENGINE. i HAVE UNBOLTED THE HALF SHAFTS AND WIRED THEM UP. I HAVE UNBOLTED THE FRONT MOUNT FROM THE TRANNY BUT HAVE NOT ENTIRELY REMOVED THE MOUNT. I HAVE NOT REMOVED THE STARTER - DO I NEED TO? ARE THERE ANY OTHER SECRETS THAT WOULD HELP MOVE THIS TRANNY AWAY FROM THE ENGINE? THE GOAL IS TO CHANGE THE CLUTCH.
ANY HELP GETTING THIS PROJECT BACK ON TRACK IS APPRECIATED.
THANKS

you have to remove the starter (the 2 bolts also hold the trans to the engine) oops...
als its easier to remove the lower control arm on the driver side and pull the susp out to give more room for the tranny to get out.

veedubmechanic,
Thanks for the reply! OOPs is right. I was going to try removing the starter tonight but it is good to know. It just doesn't look like the starter bolts go into the trans. I guess I just didn't quite take enough stuff apart.
Thanks again!
