Oil sludge?

Today I checked my car's oil. The oil was full as i expected but on the dipstick was this strange looking gunk. It was white and seemed kinda thick. The oil was the normal color but there was this gunk on the stick too. I dipped it a couple times and the stuff was still on. What the hell is this and could it contribute to the low oil pressure? (I had a post asking about that a little while back) But some please help me. There is no white smoke or anti-freeze smell coming from the exhaust. If it is a blown head gasket the leak maybe small right now. Could that be it?

ya the stuff you described on the dip stick would indicate the presance of moisture. Was the oil looking cluody on the dipstick tip? It could just be contributed from the colder temps causing a little moisture, especially if you drive alot of short trips. Which doesnt alow the engine to evaprate the moisture inside.
Hav you had to add any coolant? If you hav then you may very well hav an internal leak , maybe the head gasket. You may want to hav this checked out ASAP.
Btw--To much moisture in the oil will FRY you motors bearing. When they dont hav enough lube, they can spin the bearing , producing this very loud squeeeling sound from the engine and usually it comes to an abrupt stop. This would damage the bearings beyond repair.

I ran it to this same white snot in both of my High milage cars, The Montana had 126,000 and the GAGT had 115,000 when it happened, I had to get rid of the Montana after finding pieces of metal in the oil on my last change. The GAGT is still giong strong but I did quit using the high milage oil and have been using a reg. oil but making sure of a 3000 mile oil change, after the third change the snot was gone, I did however do a quick change after first discovering the white goop. I changed it along with the filter and after 200 miles I changed it again then I went the full 3000 and like I said the snot was gone.
I hope this helps, When I first discovered it I ran threads on both the GA Forum as well as the Montana Forum and everyone said that I had a bad head gasket or cracked heads, 15,000 miles later no signs of either ( knock knock knock).
Before you go and spend a bunch of cash on head work you may want to at least try a couple of oil changes with a new brand, I am using either Mobile 5/30 or Castrol GX 5/30, no problems.
Good luck. But please do not rule out the other possibilities such as a head gasket or bad head.

I agree with what XI and Hoags said, but I was thinking.... could this be LIM? Or is his too early for that?
What engine do you have?

I had a trusted mechanic take a quick look at it. He checked the oil and the coolant, both were fine. He said it was most likely condensation and that they car should be fine. I was thinking that maybe it was the additive i had put in on my last oil change. But for now I guess they car is fine and i think i will get another oil change real soon just to be safe.

So am i, i was thinking damn, the engine i have is notorious for blown head gaskets and i don't have the money for that. And thank you for all your input on this.
