CD Changer

Hi,
I own a Concorde 2001 LX with standard factory fittings. Only problem with the built-in CD player is that it does not play CD-R/RW. I have to buy originals. Problem is I have some recorded CD's in audio format that I listen to from time to time. Any fixes for this prob? Also, am seriously considering installing a CD-changer (the one that fits in the trunk). However, I've been told all CD-changers are not compatible with the audio system in the car. Can someone tell me what I should be looking for? Thanx a ton

What audio format is on the discs? CDA is the only audio format these players will read, if they are WAV, MP3, WMA, or any other type of Audio format then the player will not read them, unless the format is wrong on the CD or the laser in the player itself is dirty or starting to weaken it should play them. My son has a 94 Concorde with a factory Player that plays them, and a friend of mine has a 92 Dodge Conversion Van and it's dealer installed Chrysler Player will play them, I don't see any reason why a 2001 can't play them too other than what I mentioned above.
As for a changer, you can probably use just about any kind of changer as long as it will send a broadcast signal to the FM Radio either by transmitting or directly through the antenna feed line, so you can pick up the audio, it will alco need a remote device for controlling it's functions too if you do go that route. Otherwise if you want a direct plug in to your factory unit then your only option is a factory type changer.

I tried recording the CD's in CDA format on my PC but it did not help. Any other suggestions? Tried cleaning the lens too using a lens cleaning CD.

By the way, most of the recorded CD's that I buy from the market usually work fine.
