I got a 86 D-150 with a 225 slant 6 and when im accelerating or cruzing
sometimes it "bucks" or misses its like someone is turning the ignition
switch off for a split second an then back on. The strange thing is that
it only does it sometimes, and not after any specific event.Any advice
or info on this will be deeply appreciated

Provide more engine/tranny details......but,

Sound like it needs a good tune up. It probably acts up more during bad weather- rainy, snowy, damp, cold days, or very hot. The older the vehicle the more often they need a tune up, since the computers, or lack of one, can't compensate timing, fuel mixture, shift points very well like they can these days. Also as the years go by, machining tolerances on newer engines are tighter, so an engine stays stronger, mush longer than previously.

I'm trying to remember if an "86 had a carburetor still, or early hybrid fuel injection. If its a carb, and you haven't touch it then it may be due for a rebuild. Check to see if its good and tight to the intake with no air leaks.
