acid?

i just got my camera! going shutter happy!

is there something wrong with my battery? should i change it?

and there looks like something was sprayed, but wiped down. I think i brought it in for an oil change and something happen, but i guess i didn't know about it until now.

what possibly could have happened?

It's called corrosion. Just pour some coca-cola on it and scrub it with an old toothbrush.
