Where is my......????

F**king avatar WHERE IS IT!!! its there. Its gone . i refresh nothing. WTF
But seriously. I thought that got fixed. Guess not. Its the little things that annoy me.

I had problems with disappearing avatar's on other sites, and found out that they seem to shuffle the locations around, my guess it to try keeping people from using them as avatar's.

Now I usually copy them to some of my own web space.

I've had the one on this board for over a year without any problem. If you want I'll look up the site that it's from. They might have 1 that you like

I'm guessing it is a bug. I didn't see either GirlBear's or OverBoardProject's avatar when I first viewed this thread. Instead, I seen the text "Avatar" in place of where the avatar normally is.

I then read some other threads in this forum and happened to see OverBoardProject posted in some of those threads. I seen the avatar in those other threads.

I then came back to this thread and now both avatars appear. So I'm guessing it is a bug since it isn't an ISP connection issue, and nor is my forum control panel or browser set to disable images/avatars.

I have been right clicking and then SHOW PICTURE to view yours and mine too . I don't like the crap they changed on the forum but WTF , Its free. I still can't create any kind of description at the bottom of my post like ya'll have . Rob

Mine has taken a hike right now. It was there earlier when I first posted.
I get a blank box with the dreaded red "x" in it for both me and OBP, but others show up. A random AVATAR thingie???

edit: After I posted this reply, my avatar is back, OBPs isn't. Go figure.

Double edit: now the original poster's avatar is gone. It was there earlier.

actually my good digicam was stolen. and i am forced to use the vivitar again. so the night time and basically all pics suck now. but here is the orig. and yes we have a lil snow/ice.

OK , now I can see the snow . All I got was this freaking ICE storm thru the Carolinas . I lost power for two days , Some of my coworkers are going on 5 days without . Much rather have snow . GB , will you bring me some down ? please !!!

It doesn't matter where you copy them from or to, when you choose to use images as avatars here, they are saved and loaded from AF's servers.

I see yours. Right click on your avatar area, left click on show picture then do a refresh

That works with IE and it worked with FireFox before, but I just upgraded to FireFox 1.5 and it doesn't give me the choice to "load image" anymore. It only gives me a choice to "view image" and that opens the image's url. I clicked "view image" and it said that it wasn't found on this server.

I cleared my cache and reloaded the page.... now I only see your avatar and mine.

**EDIT** When this post loaded, all avatars were back except Rob's.

**EDIT 2** Now OBP's is gone.

**EDIT 3** Now..... ahh, fuk it.

I was having the same issue and it seems to have cleared itself up

I'd sure like to see a bigger pic of your camo paint. It looks like a nice job

Its not you guys it is a problem with the AF's image database or gallery or whatever you want to call it. All the admins are MIA, I don't really know if its being worked on or not :dunno:

Its annoying as hell though...

Perhaps if they put as much effort into the avatars as they did advertisements, we would not be in this pickle. I too suffer from the flickering avatar... but the ads always load. :P
