door jamb switch for a 1997

Okay, quite frustrated. I need a front drivers side door jamb switch.
Problem is that the part in my dash that the switch attaches to is round. The part that is supposed to be a replacement is rectangular. Ive been to autozone, advance auto, and napa- all have the rectangular plug. Can anyone take a look at their switch for a 1997 and tell me what the switch looks like?
I also had them check parts for a 1996/97 blazer, and it calls for the same (incorrect) switch.
