To B or not to B?

If I have 5 grand on hand, thank God if I do, I woundn't even swap a B series engine on a 4th gen civic. My choice would be the D16 Vtec.
The advantage:
1. Way way cheaper swap (no mounts needed)
2. Have more extra cash to rebuild, and rebuilding the head cost half as much as B series.
3. The engine itself is lighter, which help the handling.
4. without induction, a built-right engine would run in the 15's, which is good enough for the streets. (I have seen one w/Turbo and it ran 11's)
5. AND YOU CAN TELL WHOEVER YOU'VE BEAT THAT IT'S A STOCK ENGINE. Just imagine their faces after that. Its Kodak moment.

RIGHT!!! If i had 5 grand i would buy a B18c1 for around 3500 i believe, and then turbo the sucker! Might be a little over 5000$ but u would be in the high to mid 13's with around 6psi of boost, there is NO WAY i would choose a d-series for a swap if i had 5 grand!
Just my .02$

Get a d16z6 and make it a N/A beast. Of course the easiest method would probably be the b18 with a turbo.

People are always complaining that they need motor mounts to do a swap. If you have a welder or have access to one than make your own it's not that tough. When i helped my friend put a b18a into his CRX all we made our own. The only mount that you need to make is the passenger side one. The drivers side and the back mount are already in the right spots. Well the back one you have to unbolt and and move it over a hole and bolt it back in the other factory holes. All we did was put the back and the drivers side mount in and got the motor level and tacked it in and pulled it out and welded it good and it turned out beautiful. I'm goin to put a b18a in my car soon and i'll make my own mount too.
