Power Windows and Interior Lights

My aunt has a 96 or 97 Taurus that is having a little bit of a problem. None of her power windows will roll down via any of the switches, the interior lights don't come on when the doors are unlocked via the keyless entry or when the doors are opened, and the vanity mirrors will not illuminate. I am thinking it is a fuse but have not had time to check yet. Can someone tell me where the fuse compartments are and what fuses to check. I am also assuming there is a power distribution center under the hood with relays and fuses that need to be checked also. Oh, I just remembered that I was able to lock and unlock the doors with the keyless entry remote. It seems that I shouldn't be able to do that if a fuse is out....hmmm.. Any help is greatly appreciated.

Could also be a loose plug in the driver's door.

Would this also cause the interior or vanity mirror lights to not work? It sounds more like a fuse because more than one thing doesn't work? Would you happen to know where the fuse panels are and which fuse controlls the power windows and lights? Thanks

Two fuse panels
Interior one most likely located by your left foot when sitting in the driver's seat.
Main located under the hood.
There is a switch in the door latch that controls the interior lights when the door is opened.
Controls for the windows are located in the driver's door.

Fuse 27, a 10 amp fuse in the interior fuse panel, or the ECM mounted on the rear of the fuse panel, are the common components for this failure mode.

I checked all of the fuses and relays and everything checked out ok. I am stumped. What is the ECM module that was mentioned and is there any way to test it? While I was checking the fuses I did manage to find the code for the keypad on the drivers door. Also, why in the hell did Ford think putting the fuse panel UNDER the dash was a good idea?

The Electronic Control Module controls the relays that route the fused +12 V to various systems. I do not think you can easily test it on the car.
