350 4bolt with 305 tpi heads

Im wondering if its possible/plausable to put a set of 305ci fuel injected heads off a 89 siverado on a mildly built 350sbc. the 305 in my work truck is starting to get tired its burning oil. im pretty shure its the rings since i rebuilt the heads about 5000 miles ago. im shure some of you guy/gals have made this mod or know someone that has.

What year is the 350? If it is pre 86 the heads will fit but the intake from the 350 will not fit on the post 86 heads. The bolt holes are angled on 86 and up heads.

The heads will physically fit, but the chambers in the 305 heads will make the compression too high for practical use. This is an old hot rodder's "trick".

As previously stated, the year makes a difference. 350 heads are pretty common and inexpensive. You'ld be better off using the right ones or rebuilding the heads that cam with the short block.
