My wife has a 2000 cougar and we bought it with 57k on it. it has 70k on it now, and its starting to act strange. once in a while the battery light will flicker on and off real quick. this morning when she was bringing me to work, the interior lights (dash, radio, etc) got pretty dim, but when i turned the radio off it went away. i called her about 30 minutes ago and she esaid shes been driving it all sday and its been fine. is this a sign my alternator is going out? and how hard ias it to replace? thanks alot

yes. its too difficult of a job for most people. Its easier if you remove the halfshaft which gives a little bit more room. The bolts holding in the alternator are hard to get to, but are doable. For a newb and doing it by yourself, its probably a 3 hour job easily.
