I have a 95 Intrepid. When I would start my car none of my guages would come up. After running for a few minutes it would buck and sputter and all the guages would come up but the air bag light and the abs light would stay on. I took it in to my local garage and the told me it was the computer, they changed the computer, the problem persisted, they said that they recieved the wrong computer, so we put another in . same thing. Then they told me it was the Body computer, we replaced that it seemed ok for a short while, then while I was at work my wife told me she was driving the door locks started operating on thier own. When she got to our driveway the battery went on fire.
HELP.

well, it sounds like it was just simply a bad battery; if the mechanics were compentent enough to realize the basics of electricity, power source, load, & ground, they would realize that if the power source is weak, the load won't act properly, same thing goes w/ ground, if the source is OK, load is OK, but ground is bad, you'll have problems again. You probably could've saved a lot of money and time if they had just checked the battery in the first place.

I agree. This is a case of diagnostics by part changing. One would be better off spending the money on mechanics school than to deal with this type of mechanic. Everyone should have a factory service manual for their car. (and read it)
