G35 + bad driver < Me

Finally went out and met Rob (CassiesMan, some of you know what I'm talking about). I raced his friend's G35 (who says he's a bad driver) and held him at 1-2 cars until I shifted to third then he pulled me hardcore.
Rob (heh, that was your name right? Sorry I'm real shitty with names), you can list the details, lol. I'm hittin' the fuckin'[ sack, 10 hour shifts are lame.
When will you be back from Florida? I want to race your 325i. ;)

Steve is a decent driver, the G35 is a 6 speed, its his moms. He only gets to drive it every so often, his car is an Mirage Coupe, bone stock. His last car was an I/E Prelude with the Vtec motor, but also an auto (all ya'll on facebook may notice the quote I have "I Need that fifth gear to Vtec", thats him).
Anyways, he doesn't get to drive the stick all to much, so he gets good at it, then goes like a month or two, and sucks again. Hes also a kinda slow shifter. Of course, I can't drive a stick, period (no one wants to lend me their car to learn) so I have no room to talk.
Anyways, both races we had the traction control turned on, so on the race from a dig, we ended up bogging out becuase we couldn't spin at all. Taylor put about two lengths on us, and once the computer decided it would let Steve drive, we reeled him in, and pulled pretty hard to I'd say 90-95ish.
Second race we went from a roll, Steve was at the top of first, and on the third honk, we both punched it. Again, traction control was on, and Steve says he normally scratches in the 1-2 shift when pushing it, but the computer decided it didn't like that, and somehow we managed to bog in second from a roll. Same story, computer lets us drive finally, and we catch up and pull Taylor up to about 100-115, pretty far up.
Taylor's ESi is pretty clean looking, and sounds pretty good too. Also, the entire time my buddy with the Lexus ES300 was way behind us.
Moral of the story...computers dont let you have fun. Unless your looking at porn or something.
-Rob.

he should steal the g more often and learn how to feather it and turn the tcs off. if there isnt a switch he needs to take the fuse out.
slow shiftin isnt bad for him right now tho.. if he tried it fast he would probably be missing gears left and right.
^ lol i love that computer fun quote

We did a few hard pulls earlier and later that night, but he had turned the car off and wasn't thinking to turn the VDC off.

Those were good races.
Hit me up next time you're going out there and I'll meet you out there again.
Have you seen the Chevelle yet?

Yeah it's an ESi, which yes, is the equivalent to the GS or RS. Mods are short ram intake, 4-2-1 header, hi-flow cat., and exhaust.

Driving a stick is like riding a bike once you get decent at it... no excuses. :)
even going from transmission to transmission it takes me no more than 15-20min of good shifting to get comfertable.
The most dificult thing to adjust to IMO is the clutch's friction point for launching and shifting (the less you have to move the pedal the beter)
Anyway, nice kill which reserected itsself :)
Cassie, learn to drive a stick, pick up a beater form the junk yard for like 500...jeesh. :p

Eh, that's somewhat true. Just because you can drive stick doesn't necessarily mean you're good at it. I'm by no means a great driver but I definitely do not suck at it, every car I've ever owned has been stick shift. :)

i think its cool that ur doin all motor. do they make high compression pistons? i think u might have 8.5:1 if its the same as the turbo.

wasnt saying decent in shifting, i mean in perfomance shifting... every one is like "oh driving a stick is so hard to learn" i pickedu p up in like 15min when i was 13. got my practice in when i was 15 w/ my moms truck and my truck is now a stick and i often drive other peoples vehicles.

I decided to go turbo on it, then decided I wanted to sell it for a real DSM. I'm going to save some money for a month or two then sell the Talon and try to find a 2g GSX/TSi AWD. I don't want another FWD car, it blows.
