Well guys this is the newest project out of my garage. I am replicating a car that my girlfriends step-dad just bought. He is going to be doing some track racing with it. His has a 351 with a vortech super charger and is pushin 456hp to the wheels. anyway I am replicating as much as possible. The first thing to do was to scratch a cowl hood for it. next I had to extend the rear wing just a bit. change out the rims for some pony rims, and lower it all around. I also had to scratch build parts of the front bumper. anyway here are the pics as it stands right now....................*Ryan*

Looking good! That should look mean when it`s done!! Maybe drop the rear a scale inch or two though? Looks a little high in the back.
So you built that cowl hood??! It looks flawless!

Thanks hawk. Ya I did scratchbuild the cowl hood, I think it turned out pretty good. And Ya I am going to lower the rear just a tad more. I lowered it 1 scale inch already but it is still a bit too high. Thanks for the kind words...........*Ryan*

Ryan,
The wheels on the 1:1 are not factory Mustang rims. ROH or Saleen maybe.
See how they have a "lip" on them?
Also notice the slight "twist" in the spokes.
The rims you have pictured above are '03 Cobra rims.

Check with the owner before you slap some "pony's" on your project :iceslolan

ok well regardless of whether anyone believes me or not. I and only I have seen the car in person and the rims ARE cobra's and there is no "twist" to the spokes 675 that is just the angle of the picture. If I had a better side view pic I could show you but I do not because I was jsut taking pics of the peices that I would have to scratchbuild. So you are just going to have to take my word for it or think I am retarded..................*Ryan*

Alright, what about the clear 2-piece look of that lip...absent on any Cobra rim, from 93 all the way up to '04!!!????

Regardless off the angle in the picture...you need to look at the opposing spokes...if there was no twist, then then they would be at equal angles! Clearly not the case.

ok thats fine have your oppinion, but I know I am right because I have been 5 inches away from them and also have seen all the documentation of the car and ALL the parts on it from new. He bought the car from a second owner who does nothing but race mustangs, and also had immaculate paperwork of every single part that has been put on the car. so regardless of what you think they are cobra rims...............*Ryan*

No worries Ryan, I'm sure you have more than 1 picture of the real car to base your work on, just make sure you post them!

Sorry if I came across like a d**k but I am 100% possitive that they are cobra rims, I am not sure what year they are but I have seen the paperwork of when they were purchased so unless the company they were purchased from had no clue what they were talking about then they must be. I mean I guess it is possible that they were wrong but I doubt it. But I do know for a fact that there is no twist to the spokes at all. I do see what your talking about in the pic because they do look twisted, but they are not, unfortunately tho I do not have a straight side view of the car. I do wish that I had gotten one now though because I also need a better pic of the numbers on the rear quarter windows. but oh well I will just have to work with what I have on those.............*Ryan*
