Auto Climate Control conversion?

Assuming the auto climate control fits a standard size DIN slot (this might be a big assumption) does anyone know if it can be converted to work in a Nissan Primera (P10 style 91-96)? Currently is has a regular manual HVAC unit. I know sensors would have to be wired, but if anyone had any info I would greatly appreciate it. Thank you.

Sure :D You'd just have to wire it in to your normal controlls, I don't know the technics of it but I'm sure it can be done. If you know what sensors need to be mounted and how to mount them, then you shouldn't have much problems.

I actually don't know anything. If somebody could give me a list of the parts needed and a quick how-to I can give it a try and post back for all of you. I assume the boxes will have to be switched out, but hte harnesses wont fit. I really want auto climate control. Thanks

I really wouldn't know what parts are needed besides plenty of electrical tape and a bunch of wire connecters :D I suppose you'd pull out your current unit and just go through and take out all the actual switches and sliders and then splice on some more wire and run it through your new auto control box... Donno though :silly2:

manual climate control to auto climate control won't work

Some of the switches like the "hot to cold" switch is mechanically controlled, not electronically controlled. It would take more than "just a little re-wiring" to install one.

It is possible. You need some type of adaptor. Somebody did it in '99, but I can't get them to respond my e-mail or that account is dead.

I thought the 99's came standard with auto climate control. even if they didn't, I believe there was at least an option for it. If there was at least an option for it, there could've been optional harnesses hanging behind the dash that would've made it easier.

Sorry, I might have mis-worded that. Somebody did the manual HVAC to auto climate control conversion on his older Nissan in the year 1999. Hope that clears it up. Now feel free to call me already and stop posting since you live like 2 minutes away
